Course 1: 5.0 miles walkers Course 2: 6.6 miles short run Course 3: 9.1 miles Medium run Course 4: 12.0 miles long run (1,662’ climb/descent) |
| We have not run from here since October 2008 and since
I will be away this month it appears to be an ideal opportunity to
start the runs up Whiteleaf Hill but I have spared the walkers this
experience! The routes all enjoy fine panoramic views of the Chiltern especially on a sunny day. Chequers and Pulpit Hill are passed on the way back. There are some energetic climbs which will be good training for entrants in the London Marathon so do not be deceived by the comparative short distances of the routes. |

The
small print:
I draw up these route maps using ordinance survey maps and Memory Map software. Although I have run most of the routes used for Trailblazers events I do not have the time to run around them prior to each event to check for accuracy, obstructions and changes to footpaths and byways. Reasonable map reading skills are required and there may be a need on the day to find an alternative route. It is requested that runners keep in groups and do not leave individuals alone with the risk of getting lost. This is all part of the Trailblazers ethos where exploring the Chilterns in the company of fellow club members is as important as the time to complete the course. All participants must take due care and avoid taking unnecessary risks. Club insurance covers all members who have paid their subscription. Please contact me prior to the event if you have any concerns. The routes this month have been used before but care should be observed. Likewise I have not been to the pub so cannot vouch for the quality of beer and food. |

Memory Map Download The Memory Map Download includes all the maps, plus way markers and text headings. This should also be saved to your computer prior to being opened in Memory Map. If this route is printed at the given scale then the text should appear in the right position. These maps use the latest version European Edition - 5.4.2 |
