Brenda King notched up another age group medal when she came third in
the National British Masters Athletic Federation 10K road championships
at Exmouth on Sunday.
Brenda ran 52.51 to secure the bronze medal behind two strong athletes.
Several Chiltern Harriers took part in the second South Bucks 10k on
Sunday. The race in the quite roads near Black Park, is run to raise
funds for the popular Black Park parkrun, which is held each Saturday
morning along the Black Park trails.
The 10k route of two 5K laps is fairly flat and several runners gained PBs despite the warm conditions.
Eddie
O’Gorman won the race comfortably in 33.54, nearly a minute ahead of
his nearest rival. Richard Quantrill was 14th in 37.13 and Nathan
Taylor ran a PB to be 23rd in 39.26. Next up for the men were Michael
Turney, 27th in 40.05, David Breingan, 39th in 42.00, and Steve Perkin,
41st in 42.13.
Both Chiltern’s ladies obtained PBs, Ali
Young, 28th overall, third lady and first Vet 35, ran 40.12, and in
109th, 27th lady and 9th Vet 35, Lesley Perkin ran 51.57.
