A good number of Chiltern runners competed in the 19th Prestwood 10k on Sunday morning. Despite a fairly cold breeze on arrival at Sprinters Sports Centre the race started in a pleasant 15 degree temperature. The first half of the course is quite ‘undulating’ through country lanes and the second half much flatter through Prestwood itself. There were 249 finishers.
Regrettably this year there were no team prizes (perhaps something for the new organizers to consider for next year) which Chiltern would undoubtedly have won!
Sian Thomas won the ladies race, finishing 6th overall in a speedy 39:59. Sandra Reynolds was 2nd lady (13th overall) in 41:37, Sarah Caulfield 8th (56th overall) in 46:00.
Richard Quantrill continued his good form coming 2nd in 37:28 and Michael Turney was 9th overall in 40:17. Mark Standen (19th) & Alex Pepper (23rd) finished in 42:59 and 43:12 respectively.
