Sunday 27th June 2010

There were two Chiltern Harriers on the prizewinners list at the popular Thame 10K road race on Sunday, which featured 825 finishers.

In very warm conditions despite the 9.30am start time, Tom Beedell was in the leading pack early on and finished in second place in a good time of 33.53, twenty seconds behind winner Charlie May of Vale of Aylesbury.

Ali Young was close to her PB and finished as first female Vet 35 and was fourth woman overall in a time of 41.15.

The Chiltern men's team came fourth behind winners Woodstock Harriers and other local teams Headington Road Runners and Alchester Running Club, with Simon Beedell 21st in 38.19, Steve Perkin 37th in 39.33 and Nathan Taylor 44th in 44.01 making up the team behind Tom.

Chiltern's women had three strong performers with Debbie Wenman 8th woman (2nd Vet 35) in 42.48 and Jenni Coxon 11th woman in 43.15, but were without a fourth scorer to challenge for the team prize.
