Sixteen Chiltern Harriers runners completed the 2010 Virgin London Marathon with David Walker completing his 30th, making him one of the very few 'ever-presents' in the race.
The first Harrier home was Eddie O'Gorman as 412th male (280th in the 18-39 age group) in 2.49.10. Mark Fallowfield-Smith also had a good run to be second club male home in 3.08.29
The first of the club's female runners was Sandra Reynolds, in a very impressive 3.11.38. Sandra had a baby last year so didn't compete but has come back very strongly to record another excellent time, after a 3.02 in 2008.
Highest placed for age-group was again Barbara Ralph who kept up her high standard of performance in the marathon, finishing as 8th in the women's 55-59 age group in 3.25.25. Not far behind was Kate Loach (76th in the 45-49 category) in 3.30.59 and Isabelle Winter (145th in the 40-44 age-group) in 3.37.42.
David Walker finished in 4.55.17, somewhat down on his heyday but maintaining his position in a very select band of runners who've run every 'London' since its inception in 1981.
