Three Chiltern Harriers took part in the first ever Brighton Marathon on Sunday 18th April. Although the sunshine made the race tough, it meant that spectators lined the streets providing a fantastic atmosphere. The course provided a great view running along the coastline.
The first half was undulating but the second half was pancake flat providing an ideal opportunity for a fast race. All in all a good event which would recommend to others as an alternative to London.
Ali Young came 1st Vet35, 11th lady and 262nd in field of 7419 runners with a time of 3.18.34. Annelie Whitfield did a time of 4.17.08 coming 2874th and David Mockett came in 5012th with 4.54.55.
