The third of the four-event series was hosted by Hawridge and Cholesbury School on Saturday. Many of the club's younger runners were in action, running for their schools.
Rupert Empson of Elangeni came seventh in the Year 3 boys race and in the girls event Ellie Perkin helped her team to gold, coming tenth.
Chiltern's runners in the Year 4 boys race included the winner for Chalfont St Peter School, Tommy Taylor. Lily Pearson of Heatherton House won the Year 4 girls race. Alex Bousfield and Amber Hitchcock also ran well, coming fourth and sixth respectively for Chesham Prep.
In Year 5, The Beacon's Angus Denison-Smith won the boys race convincingly for the third time with newcomer Freddie Bowcock finishing well in third, also running for The Beacon.
There were six highly placed runners in the Year 5 girls' race. The top five finishers all run for Harriers. First was Our Lady's Orla Fawcett, then Lizzie Barraclough for Elangeni and Mimi Houlihan-Burne for Chesham Prep. Fourth and fifth were Rhiannon Ward and Madeleine Lacey, helping Lizzie and Elangeni get team gold. In eighth was Heatherton's Katie McCarthy.
Fred Sanders of The Gateway won the Year 6 race. The Beacon's David Willcox and Ed Mundy came second and third respectively. Robert Hall of Elangeni also ran well to come fourth and Josh Hughes had a good run to come sixth.
The Harriers girls got all three top positions in the Year 6 race. Claire Buttivant of CSP won, Rachel Padwick (Elangeni) and Harriet Church (CSP) battled for second and third, Rachel just holding on. In fifth was Elangeni's Jessica Empson and sixth was Heatherton's Grace Pearson.
Overall a strong spread of Harriers athletes on a blustery, muddy yet sunny day led to an enjoyable event. Next race is On February 27th at Lowndes Park.
