Several of Pete Griffiths' sprint group representing Chiltern Harriers and Watford Harriers took part in these events, a chance to get in some early competition and see how the winter training is going.
In the Under 20 men's 60m, Joel Ramsbottom of Watford Harriers reached the final, having run a PB in the semi of 7.01. He was slightly tired and ran 7.07 in the final. Team-mate Kwasi Adomakoh also ran a PB of 7.46 in his heat.
In the Under 17 age group Chiltern Harriers sprinters Sophie East and Maria Nikodemova both ran 8.50 to qualify for the semi-finals of the 60m but both had slightly slower times in the semis themselves. Isabelle Assirati ran 28.77 in her heat of the 200m and Under 15 Sarah Cross had a good 60m heat with 8.89.
In the Under 17 boys 60m Tom Brady ran 7.90 in his heat and in the 200m Daniel Cady ran 27.20. Jack Dutton, a day after a tough cross country race, took part in the Under 17 1500m but faded towards the close.
