Although the snow and icy roads meant the cancellation of the popular Cliveden cross country race on December 28th, Chiltern Harriers athletes managed to find plenty to do over the festive period.
On a bright and sunny Boxing Day, Fabian Downs had a good run in the Aylesbury 5K road race, finishing fourth in a high quality field in 16.09. Neil Edwards was 54th in 20.28 and Garry Page 76th in 21.31.
On New Year's Day Julius Fawcett ran a PB in the Serpentine RC New Year's Day 10K, finishing in 29th spot in 39.06. Michael Turney was close behind in 37th place in 39.36. There were 459 finishers.
On the 3rd January indoors at Eton in the WSEH winter series, some of the sprint group were in action. Jamie Shepard ran 8.36 for 60m as a Vet 45. Under 15 girls Sarah Cross and Hannah Shepard ran 8.77 and 9.46 respectively with Under 13 girl Rebecca Yeabsley running 8.87.
