Sunday 29th November

There were over 100 entries for the inaugural Pednor 10 mile road race, organised by Chiltern Harriers Triathlon group. On a cool and slightly damp morning, the first running of this race went off very well on the quiet and scenic Pednor loop road, just outside Chesham town centre.

The winner was Adam Mills in 58 minutes dead, with Fabian Downs second in 1.00.54 and Sam Williamson third in 1.02.04. First Vet 40 was Paul Tew in 1.02.13 and first Vet 50 was Jon Burgess in 1.06.00.

First woman home in a very good time of 1.06.38 was Kerri Renshaw. Second was Michaela Colwell in 1.11.40 and third Helen Williams in 1.13.37. First vet 35 was Joanna Cunn in 1.18.50 and first Vet 45 was Kate Loach in 1.18.40.

The winners of the women's two x 5mile relay prize were Siv Vatne Lock and Ruth Lingley in a time of 1.27.26. The men's relay winners were Guy Woollett and Paul Allen in 59.22 and the mixed team winners were Natalie Treacher and Spenser Lane in 1.14.22.

The race succeeded in raising several hundred pounds for The Hospice of St Francis and Cancer Research UK and looks set to be a popular and worthwhile part of the autumn road running calendar in years to come.
