Several Chiltern Harriers took part in the tough multi-terrain Chalfont St Giles 10k which was a feature of the village's annual country show on a hot and sunny morning.
A field of 153 tackled the farmland and woodland course which takes in some hard climbs in the first half of the race before returning along the Misbourne valley.
In second place was Fabian Downs in 37.04, fourth was Richard Quantrill in 40.25, Steve Perkin was sixth in 42.20, and Andrew Redington was ninth in 43.50. Also towards the top of the field was Ian Lawson, 13th in 44.28.
In the ladies race Heidi Folkard was top placed Harrier in eighth with 53.21, Alison Redington was 12th in 57.01, and Brenda King was 15th in 58.34.
