There were PBs galore for Chiltern Harriers young athletes at a sunny Milton Keynes on Sunday.

Leading the way was first year Under 15 Alex Johnson who powered to a new best by four seconds to win his 800m race in 2.19.5 and log a second place in the long jump of 4.33m.

The Under 15 girls had strong representation with four first year athletes and in a high calibre 800m Chloe Allen finished third in a season's best of 2.31.2. In fifth was Jess Franks in a new PB of 2.34.5 and Ellie Jones also recorded a new best of 2.36.0 in sixth. Amy Harris, having run 2.34.0 last month, struggled with a sore ankle and finished eighth in 2.41.5.

New recruit Chloe Allen tackled all five events on offer and with a 75m Hurdles in 16.2, 7.22m shot, 1.15m high jump, and 3.59m long jump, finished as highest placed pentathlete on the day. Jemma Wenman had her first meet of the summer and jumped 4.06m in the long jump and ran 13.9 in the 75m hurdles for a steady start.

In the Under 13s, Connie Lewis ran strongly to log a 2.33.5 800m placing her 15th in the national rankings. Rosalind Firth was second in 2.39.4 and Evie Gardner was third in 2.52.3. Evie ran 16.2 in the 70m hurdles with Amy Fawcett close behind in 16.6 and Robyn Lisle confirmed herself as the club's premier Under 13 long jumper with 3.48m.
