A strong Chiltern Harriers contingent took part in the annual Good Friday 10 mile race at Maidenhead.

The flat and fast course brought out good times and the men's team did well to finish in second place and the ladies also ran well to finish third.

Eddie O'Gorman was first Chiltern man home from the 1152 finishers, coming home in 8th place in a time of 55.13. Justin Fowler was 15th in 56.38 and the scoring three was completed by Kingsley Nanton, 22nd in 57.29. This placed the team second on 46 points, behind a strong Vale of Aylesbury outfit, including winner Anuradha Cooray, that finished on 33 points. There were 40 complete teams. Derek Brown had his usual good run at this event but a lost chip does not show him in the results.

Also having strong runs were Richard Quantrill, 47th in 59.47, Mark Fallowfield-Smith, 48th in 59.56 and Jon Taylor, 83rd in 61.52.

On the ladies side Laura Butt, 195th (21st lady) in 67.26, Sarah Quantrill, 201st (23rd lady) in 67.37, and Debbie Wenman, 213th (29th lady) in 68.07 packed well to come home in third place behind a very strong Reading Roadrunners team and second-placed West 4 Harriers. There were a total of 27 ladies teams.
