The club's female runners could also look back on a successful season, with four team and four individual awards.
In the Under 11 Girls race Claudia Jones was first home in 11th place and a time of 8mins 44 secs. Hannah Morton was 12th and Orla Fawcett was 21st, to give the team 4th place on the day, with newcomer Nadine Eliasson showing promise for the future with 24th place. Claire Buttivant, who was forced to drop out of Saturday's race through not having fully recovered from being unwell, was the best placed individual over the season with 5th position, whilst the team took the silver medals.
Connie Lewis had another good run in the Under 13 Girls event, moving through the field to take 3rd place just before the finish in 10mins 18 secs. Next home was Amy Harris in 8th position, with Rosalind Firth finishing 13th and Ellie Jones 18th to give the team 2nd place on the day. The team were also 2nd over the season to win silver medals - a creditable achievement taking account of the various absences through school running and other commitments. Ellie Jones was the best individual over the season with 7th place.
Veteran Laura Butt in 10th place and a time of 24mins 36secs was the best club runner in the Senior/Veteran Women's race. Sarah Quantrill, 13th, Judith Orr, 15th and Cath Holloway, 19th, were the other scorers in the team which was 3rd on the day. The club also won bronze medals for placing 3rd over the season.
In the Veterans category Barbara Ralph was 4th scorer and her 31st place contributed to a clean sweep of wins. This lead to gold medals for a convincing win over the season, the club's 1095 points total being over 400 more than the 2nd placed team. Laura Butt was the best individual over the season with 6th in the overall Senior/Veteran category, She also won a silver medal for 2nd in the Over 35 age group, with the bronze medal being taken by Debbie Wenman. There were similar awards in the Over 45 age group for Barbara Ralph, silver, and Kate Loach, bronze. In the Over 55 section Brenda King was 3rd.
