Chiltern Harriers veteran women had a great result on Saturday, finishing as gold medal winning team in the Vet 35 age group at the Southern Masters Cross Country Championship held at Old Warden Park, Biggleswade in Bedfordshire.
Laura Butt was sixth on the 6K course finishing in 24.38, Judith Orr was 17th in 26.03 and Cath Holloway 20th in 26.14. The points total of 43 put them just three points ahead of Dulwich Runners AC in second, Steyning AC were third on 54.
In the men's Vet 40 race, Ian Lawson was 68th in 38.59 on the 10K course, Gary Walford 71st in 39.17 and Alex Pepper 117th in 47.30. This put the team in 19th place overall. Martyn Cartwright finished 62nd in the Vet 60 race, covering the 10K in 55.49.
