The second race in the primary schools winter series took place at Chartridge School on Saturday with several club members performing well. The muddy course with steep descent and long climb gave the youngsters a tough test.
Bill Hughes won the Year 6 boys race convincingly for Elangeni, but the Year 6 race was an exciting battle between Robyn Lisle of Chalfont St Peter and Evie Gardner of Godstowe. Robyn just won out this time.
Claire Buttivant of Chalfont St Peter again won the Year 5 girls race with Elangeni's Rachel Padwick third. Jessica Empson and Harriet Church also finished in the top ten. Will Perkin of Elangeni was second in the Year 5 boys race with David Willcox of the Beacon third in a close fought encounter.
Nadine Eliason of Heatherton House won the girls Year 4 race with Our Lady's Orla Fawcett second. Georgie Cooper of Chalfont St Peter and Rhiannon Ward of Elangeni also finished in the top ten but Lizzie Barraclough lost a shoe in the muddy conditions and lost valuable places.
