A beautiful sunny morning graced Tring Running Club's annual multi terrain 15k Ridgeway Run, which attracted a field of 438 runners.
Chiltern Harriers were second in the men's team race and fifth in the ladies despite the previous day's exploits in the Chiltern Cross Country League.
Fabian Downs, who had run very well on Saturday came up with another impressive performance to be third in an excellent time of 59.47. Making up the remainder of the six-man team were Ian Lawson, 32nd in 1.08.23, Michael Turney (who had also run on Saturday), 47th in 1.11.23, Paul Horwood, 61st in 1.13.26, Douglas Ramsay, 164th in 1.25.26, and Will Hutton, 176th in 1.26.19.
The ladies team consisted of Kate Loach, 17th in 1.21.08, Susan Short, 44th in 1.28.14, Debbie Tank, 93rd in 1.40.14, and Jane Martin 117th in 1.48.33. Kate was 4th Vet 45.
Richard Quantrill had an excellent run at Sunday's Henley half, finishing in 12th place in a time of 1.21.36. Adrian Reynolds was the other Chiltern man out, completing the course in 1.37.23 to be 130th senior man.
Sarah Quantrill also had a good run to finish in 82nd overall and fifth lady in 1.30.36. Sandra Reynolds was 146th overall and 9th lady with 1.34.24. Isabelle Winter was 235th overall and 6th Vet 40 in 1.38.38.
Chiltern Harriers' contingent performed excellently at this tough event, based near Salisbury in Wiltshire. A wet morning made conditions on the off-road course very tricky.
In the men's race Michael Turney came home 13th from the field of 292 men an 173 women. He was 5th placed Vet 40 in a time of 1.36.04 in a race in which only four people broke one and half hours.
In the women's race Debbie Wenman finished in third place in 1.41.25 and was first Vet 35 home. In fourteenth spot was Kate Loach in 1.55.39, coming away with first place in the Vet 45 category.
