From Hemel take the A4146 (Leighton Buzzard road) and turn off right at 'Water End' into Red Lion Lane. Carry on up the lane (shortly passing the Crown & Sceptre) for approx 1.5 miles then turn right into Gaddesden Row. "The Old Chequers" is on the right in approx 200 yds.
Its address and post code are: "The Old Chequers", Gaddesden Row, Hemel Hempstead, Herts HP2 6HH. Tel: 01442 256315. The pub is approx 4.3 miles from Hemel Hempstead and 5.1 from Berkhamsted.
Distances are 11 & 9 miles approx in a relatively flat and pleasant terrain - which will be appreciated after the last month's 'exercise'!
