Some encouraging performances came from those young Chiltern Harriers athletes present at Watford Harriers' first Wednesday evening Open meeting of the season.
In the sprints, Under 17 Joe Stevens ran 25.08 in the 200m. Elsewhere Chiltern's runners kept to the 1500m. Chiltern Cross Country League winner at Under 11 Andrew Stenning ran his first track 1500m as a first year U13 in a promising 5.15.26, whilst second year Michael Goddard set down a marker for the season of 4.42.47. In the same race George Gillingwater ran a solid 5.08.81 to continue his good form from the cross country season.
In race 3 of the evening, Under 17 Alan Stewart came home first in 4.22.02, whilst in race 5, featuring the fastest performers of the meet, senior man Tom Beedell ran an impressive 4.03.29. Next meeting is on 23rd April.
