South of England Masters Cross Country Championship

Several of the Chiltern Harriers vets travelled to Mad Bess Woods in Ruislip to take part in the SEAA Vets championships on Saturday.

Of several good performances, leading the way on the day was Sandra Reynolds, 11th overall and taking third place in the Vet 35 category, in a time of 23.53 on the 6K course.

Also running for the ladies were Cath Holloway, 26th and 9th vet 40 in 25.40, Barbara Ralph, 39th and 4th vet 50, and Brenda King, 96th and 3rd vet 60.

On the men's side Gary Walford was first Harrier home in the Vet 40 10k race, in 64th spot with 39.10. He was followed by Adrian Dale, 90th in 41.35, Rob Engers, 108th in 44.22, and Alex Pepper, 109th in 44.39.

The Vet 50 race - also 10k - saw good finishes for Tony Richardson, 21st in 37.56, Roger Ellerby, 41st in 39.18, John Ralph, 102nd in 44.22, Trevor Brawn, 125th in 47.23, and R Lott, 140th in 53.55.
