Chiltern Harriers ladies are going further afield for races recently - with a good deal of success over the longer distance races.
At the 10 mile Cotswold Classic organised by Witney Road Runners, Laura Butt and Debbie Wenman had a worthwhile trip up to Oxfordshire with Laura finishing as 3rd lady overall in 1 hour 7 minutes 36 secs and Debbie coming home with the Vet 35 prize in a new PB of 1.08.14.
Also in that county Sandra Reynolds and Kate Loach braved the undulating challenge of the Woodstock Harriers 12 mile race. Sandra came home in an impressive 1 hour 24.59, 40th place overall, 2nd lady and winner of the Vet 35 age group. Kate also had a good run to finish in overall 80th and 8th lady in 1.34.25.
Lastly, Debbie, Sandra and Kate won the ladies team prize at the Leighton Buzzard 10 mile race with Debbie winning the ladies race overall in 1 hour, 6 minutes, 16 secs (another PB) just pipping Charlotte Steptoe from Vale of Aylesbury AC in 2nd place by three seconds. Sandra finished as 1st in the Vet 35 age group in 1:08:04 and 5th overall. Kate was 1st Vet 45 and 10th lady overall in 1:14:02.
The Chiltern Harriers ladies look in good shape for the cross-country season to come.
