Sunday morning saw two individual victories for Chiltern Harriers men in the two local 10K races at Prestwood and Wooburn Green.
At Prestwood Matt Bennett continued his strong spring form with a victory in this race for the first time with an excellent 34.39. A large Chiltern contingent contributed to a further men's team win with Simon Brown, 6th in 37.52 and Mark Fallowfield-Smith, 8th in 38.27, completing the team.
The ladies also had a successful morning with Sandra Reynolds 3rd in 41.38, Laura Butt 5th in 42.07, Claire Stubbings winning the vet 40 category in 47.09 and Barbara Ralph leading the way in the vet 50 race in 42.50. The ladies team were also team winners with Sandra, Laura and Barbara counting to secure the win.
Meanwhile a few miles south Eddie O'Gorman had a comfortable victory in the 5th Wooburn Park 10K race, going one place better than last year and coming home in 36.10, well ahead of his nearest challenger. With most Harriers at Prestwood, the Chiltern team only reached fourth place with Handy Cross Runners being the winners this time.
The Wooburn event also included a 3K family fun run with several of Chiltern Harriers' youngest, under 9-year-old, runners competing strongly. From a field of 80, Will Perkin came in 3rd and close behind, in 7th, Evie Gardiner was first girl home. Kathryn Baker also ran well to finish 3rd girl, in overall 12th.
