Chesham ladies have had good results in the National Top Club competition. Having defeated Aylesbury Town two weeks ago we notched up a good win against Amersham last Saturday, 6th June. The ladies won two games and lost two, but won overall on shot difference of 9 shots.
In the County fours competion four ladies from Chesham have reached the National finals to be held at Leamington at the end of July. Terri Keen, Fay Holmes, Daphne Halsey and Pat Rodgers played two matches in a temperature of 27 degrees, beating Cippenham in the quarter final 26-12 and Stony Stratford in the semi-final 26-13.
In the London & Southern Counties triples David Coles, Michael Birch and Mick Skerry beat High Wycombe 24-12.
The annual Ladies v Mens games resulted in a win by just one shot by the Ladies 108-107, highest winning rink Tricia Parsons, Gillian Henderson, Eileen Perry and Molly Young.
More success followed in the mixed game against Thame B.C. top rink Tricia Parsons, David Hobbs, Pam Hooper and Robbie Williams.
Another win was recorded against Herts B.C. with 3 ladies triples scoring 54 shots to 49, best rink Maureen Bailey, Delphine Brown and Shirley Gardiner and yet another against Chalfont St. Giles 69-68, highest rink skipped by Shirley Gardiner, (Lady Captain) with Toni Nightingale and Chris Smethurst.
The weekend mixed games saw a change of fortune, both games lost, against Broomwade 91-116, top rink Jackie Bateman, David Hobbs, John Burgin and David Coles, and against Desborough, Maidenhead 104-138 with the top rink being Babs Williams, Jean McNab, Brian Cox and Jenny Ware.
